Last night, I created a homebrew item by copying the staff of birdcalls, adding finesse and removing versatile. On the item page, the notes read as follows: Notes: Weapon Property: Finesse, Ignore Weapon Property: Versatile, Utility
However, I loaded the item in a character's inventory, the modified weapon properties still don't function correctly. The weapon only functions using the STR modifier and the versatile damage button still apears. I've had issues similar to this in the past, but usually waiting for a couple hours or deleting the item from the inventory then re-adding it solves the issue eventually. Not this time. Waiting 24 hours, deleting / re-adding the item and clearing the cache didn't work. I checked the forum fos similar issues and could only find a thread from 2017, back when the dropdown menu just didn't include weapon properties.
Hi! I appreciate your help, but unfortunately and as explained above, I've already waited for a long period and attempted the suggested means to force the update (hadn't tried the feat method, I now have, it still doesn't work).
Then are you sure you have loaded your homebrewed version and not the original? If so then please post the URLs to both your character sheet and the homebrew so someone can look into it for you. Moderators and Staff (not me) can even see non-published homebrews.

Do you know what I could have done wrong?

Thanks!
Here’s the character sheet: https://www.dndbeyond.com/characters/58285267
Here’s the item: https://www.dndbeyond.com/magic-items/5357869-finesse-staff-of-birdcalls
Upping this one with a 2nd item with faulty property. It should now be dealing bludgeoning damage, not piercing
Item : https://www.dndbeyond.com/magic-items/5393758-tambo
Still the same character : https://www.dndbeyond.com/characters/58285267
I can't see the item page since not a mod, but did you add a Modifier with Type: Replace Damage Type, Subtype: Bludgeoning ?

I did. As a result the item page notes read as follows:
Notes: Damage: Bludgeoning, Finesse, Light
It might actually be an issue with the character, I’ll run a test.
No, the Damage modifier is not what you want. Remove it and instead add the modifier Replace Damage Type with subtype Bludgeoning.

Thank you! That one may be fixed then, I'll wait for the cache to update
