I have created a race with a few subraces as tests. As I didn't need one of them anymore, I decided to delete one subrace/variant. Afterwards I noticed it's still there in the subrace section of the race. Clicking "delete" gives me a working popup and kind of freezes the page, making me unable to click anything. Clicking "edit" sends me to a 404 page. Upon refreshing, the subrace/variant is still there.
I'm having the same issue. Created a homebrew race, and been trying to add a subrace to it. it 404's when i try to view it, and freezes when i try to delete them.
Published is permanent. You cannot delete something once it is published. You will have to publish your base race since it’s stuck to your published subraces, create a new version of that, and then recreate your subraces from scratch. You will have to remove the old versions from your homebrew collection to make them unselectable. Do yourself a favor and don’t publish the next batch of anything until it is fully playtested and edited and you know you are 1,000% satisfied with it.
I'll make a note of it, thank you. I was publishing the sub-race because the main one would not allow itself ot be published, stating it 'had no subraces' for some reason, despite me clearly creating one for them.
I also thought I was done with the subrace, then i found some issues with it. I'm still learning how things work.
The system only checks those compliances when the main [SAVE CHANGES] button under Basic Information is hit. You must have saved the race after checking the “Will Have Subraces” box, but not have re-saved the race after you created the subrace. That’s what triggers that error.

The subrace/variant in question is called "Sand Ibusano Dragonborn".
Hello! Can you check again now?
Solved, thank you!

The subrace in question -has- been published, yet the main race itself still yells at me to add a subrace to it.

After some quick test, it seems as if these are created when i create a new version of the subrace.
