Considering there is no way to create a weapon that does 1d6 damage of 2 different types and have them roll together, you must be using something like Beyond20. If that’s the case, the issue lies with them.
I am using DnD Beyond, and I am having it roll the two separate damage types by starting with a regular mace and adding a modifier. It rolls the two separate damage types with no issue other than the crit damage mentioned earlier
I just created a mace that also deals an additional 1d6 piercing damage and tested it on a character sheet DDB doesn’t roll the two damage types together. 🤷♂️
Are you sure you’re not using something like Beyond20? How did you set your homebrew up?
Just reread and saw you said Beyond20, not Roll20.
Yes, I am using Beyond20. Which is probably what was causing the issue because trying it on my mobile device does not have the same effect as on my computer.
Trying to create a homebrew weapon that rolls 1d6 of one damage type and 1d6 of another (2d6 total).
That all works fine, but when I try to roll crit damage with it, it does not double the damage type (still rolls 1d6 for each damage instead of 2d6)
I might be blind, but I cannot see anywhere I can fix this. Am I missing something?

I am competent enough to understand what website I am using. I am away from my computer at the moment but will make a video to show my steps tomorrow.
I may not be as competent as I claimed.

I apologize, and thank you for your help.
