I'm trying to remove a spell from a lvl 3 ranger ( Goodberry ), but every time I click remove, I get an error that says:
Whoops! We rolled a 1 on our API check. We're heading into town to visit the blacksmith for repairs.
Try again after a Short Rest.
and an error code that always changes (Last one was 671669b02df84250a0230e5b7fcfa5e5). I've tried with manage spells and in character edit mode, I've tried on my computer and on my phone, and I keep getting that error.
It's been a while since you posted, so if a random glitch caused this issue, it's probably working now. However, in case you are still having this issue, have you tried:
Logging out, and logging back in
Disabling any browser extensions you have installed
Using a different browser on the same device
Using a different device
{EDIT} I forgot to say: If none of the above are working, post a link to the character, so the staff can take a look;
I just re-tried all of these, but I get the same issue.
I'm having the same problem removing a spell, but it's a homebrew spell. The homebrew spell was edited while in the character's spellbook, and now I can't get rid of it to get the correct version. The character is https://www.dndbeyond.com/profile/Lehnbor/characters/9647177 and the spell is Xyrjyre's Mathematical De...

You should only need to remove the old version from the character and replace it if the spell has been published and a new version had to be published to replace it. That’s part of why it is best practice to not publish until all play testing and editing have been completed. However, a search revealed no published spells including the name “Xyrjyre,” so the spell was not published which means it should automatically update itself, it just takes a while sometimes.

I never published it and it is not automatically updating due to edits. It was marked originally as a ritual. This started after I unchecked the ritual checkbox and saved the spell.

Thanks for taking the time to troubleshoot this!
{EDIT]: OK... I got the error, but the spell was removed, so.... solved I guess?

In future, don’t attach the “share link,” that doesn’t help. The Mods need a copy of the actual URL for the character.

Same problem here, with a duplicate of color spray and primal savagery. https://www.dndbeyond.com/characters/92495809
