I'm trying to add a tooltip for profiency with Vehicles (water) is there a tooltip for that or am I just putting in the wrong thing. I've tried using skill and item and neither of them work.
That’s because “Vehicles (Water)” is neither a Skill, nor an Item. That’s one of those edge cases that is not currently tooltipable. It would be simpler if the [skill] tooltips were changed to [prof], or if a [prof] category were added so we wouldn’t need to use [item] for more than half of the possible proficiencies, and have no option to tooltip stuff like Vehicle proficiencies. But I doubt that’ll happen anytime soon.
Adding my hope that DnD Beyond includes proficiencies in "Vehicles (Land)" and "Vehicles (Water)" to the available list of tool proficiencies. This is a change between 2014 and 2024. For example I'm looking for a crewman who can work on a ship or boat, but who doesn't have "Navigator's Tools" (they don't steer/guide the craft).
