I had created a "Test Campaign" to see how the features worked, and had one of my own characters join it. It had served its purpose, but then I got stuck on how to leave it. First, I brought up the character. I saw where I was joined to the "Test Campaign" but saw no button or way to leave it.
Next, I went into "My Campaigns" under my account, and deleted it. I assumed that would take care of the problem. However...when I look under the character, he is still in the "Test Campaign."
What did I do wrong? How can I fix or avoid in the future?
Bonus newbie question: can characters be in more than one campaign? If not, will it allow you to leave one to join the new one? If so, how does the interfacw work...does the campaign choice show multiple names or a drop down perhaps?
To leave a campaign, you want to be on the 'my characters' page, you can see there what characters are in a campaign and should have a 'leave' option. Same from the campaign page. Characters can't be in more than one campaign. I'm not sure if you can get that character out of the deleted campaign without staff intervention -- someone else might be able to answer that.
Strange....when I got to my characters page, I see all of my characters, but the character in a campaign doesn't have that info listed at all. Not their campaign, and no leave campaign button either.
I'm worried that by deleting the campaign the character is "stuck," but I don't see a way of reporting the problem to a staff member. All I can find are these help forum threads.
By the way, thank you to both of you for replying!

Yes, you can leave or join campaigns at will. Follow this link and click where it says “Leave Campaign:” (https://www.dndbeyond.com/characters).

I currently have a free account, if that matters.
