Not sure if this is the correct forum for this, but a character in my campaign recently acquired Gauntlets of Ogre Power, and his to-hit bonus skyrocketed much further than it should have. It's now +11, even on an unarmed strike, and I believe it should be around +6. Is there a way to see what makes up the total, or any other way to determine what's contributing to the bonus?

What's that Spellforge Hammer? Perhaps that homebrew item is not set up correctly because it looks like something is giving a +5 to all Strength based attacks.
Ok, I checked the hammer, and it's on "Bonus - Melee Attacks" and "Fixed Value 1", so I don't think that's it. The character recently acquired Gauntlets of Ogre Power, and I think that's a part of the problem, because when I unequip them, his melee to hit is +7, or +8 with the hammer, and he gets a +2 STR bonus normally, but when I equip them again (and attune), his melee attacks go up to +11/+12, and it seems like they should only go up to +9/+10, since his STR only goes up from +2 to +4.
And I'm wondering if even that's too high. It should be STR + Proficiency, which is +2 +2 w/o the Gauntlets, so there's another +3 in there somewhere that I haven't accounted for. He's got Dwarven Combat Training, which gives the proficiency on those weapons, but I don't think that stacks with anything else. So I think those are the issues; the Gauntlets are giving too big of a bonus, and there's a +3 in there somewhere that I haven't accounted for yet. Any ideas?

The hammer is still set up wrong if it's set to Bonus Melee Attacks of 1 because that's giving a +1 to all melee attacks, even with other weapons or unarmed strike. It needs to be set up like a normal +1 weapon which is just a Bonus - Magic 1.
Looking at that character sheet now, the Handaxe and Unarmed Strike should be +6 to hit and the magic hammer should be +7 while wearing the gauntlets and all of those are 1 higher (+7 and +8). It looks like the character's base Strength score is normally 14, so if they take the gauntlets off, their Handaxe and Unarmed Strike should be +4 to hit and the magic hammer should be +5.
Is that hammer your homebrew or the player's? If it's yours I need to see screenshots of it's modifiers because something is wonky. If it's your players homebrew, I smell shenanigans.
That fixed a lot, thanks. When I changed it to "Bonus - Magic 1" everything came back to normal, except the Spellforge Hammer might still be 1 higher than it should be. Hand axe and unarmed strike are now +6 with the Gauntlets, and the Hammer's +8, though I agree it should be +7. If it stays +8, that's not the end of the world, though.
I was going to insert a picture of it, but can't figure out the "Source" typing. I was expecting a window to pick the file, but apparently that's not how it works in DnDBeyond.

Definitely a homebrew, and it's only supposed to give +1 to hit, so I'll check that first and see if I've done something wrong. Thanks.
