I have been trying to join Phandelver and below: The shattered obelisk with my now level five sorcerer on D&d beyond and it displays an error. It says “There was a problem joining the campaign with that character.” Said character is not currently in a campaign according to D&D Beyond and the campaign I just joined is already underway. Could someone please help me figure out a solution to this problem.
Well, I’m not seeing anything about your character that should be interfering with things. There might be something wrong with the link you’ve been given to the campaign. One thing is to check the link you’ve been sent to see if there’s a bit of errant code incorporated in it. Sometimes what happens is that when a DM copies a join link and then pastes it in a PM or email or wherever, the process adds a blank space at the end of it. When one just simply looks at the link in the message that space is invisible, but when the web browser tries to use that link it picks up that blank space and includes it as part of the url. That may not seem like it should be an issue, but it is because the apparently blank space has a tiny smidge of html associated with it, and the browser thinks it’s part of the address and it messes everything up. So look at the link. If you see the following bit of code at the very end of it you’ll know that’s the problem.
You see that part I underlined in pink at the end there? Where you or I see nothing but an empty space, that’s what the computer sees. Look for that at the end of the URL they sent you. If it’s there, then instead of clicking the link, highlight it and copy /paste it into the address bar and make sure before you click enter that part isn’t there.

Three questions:
Okay, technically that’s four questions, but two of them are conjoined so that doesn’t count.

His name is Thadious, and he was in a campaign previously, but he completed it. As for my current campaign, we are up to 7 players including myself.
Can you please post a link to your character sheet so someone can look into this for you?

I would think that if I didn’t physically type the link in, that and I have also tried it on my phone, tablet and computer and I still can’t join.
Then get the DM to reset the link and send it to you again. They may have inadvertently reset it after sending it to you the first time.
