As the title says, I tried earlier in the homebrew section to make a subclass based on one that already exists. However, when I try to select an existing subclass as a template, it seems to have no options available.
I've tooled around with the homebrew editor before and never had this problem. Help?
My entitlements are in sync; I checked the homebrew editor again (for the fifth time in a row), and for some reason it seems to have decided to work now.
I was trying to take a closer look at the Arcane Trickster and Eldritch knight to see how 1/3 casting works. For whatever reason, none of the subclasses for *any* class were showing up earlier, but now they are. I guess there must have just been a hiccup in the system?
I can tell you that a straight copy of Arcane Trickster / Eldritch Knight won't work out of the gate. You'll need to be sure it has the following settings in Basic Information (I forget which parts aren't already filled out):
Spell Casting Ability: INT
Can Cast Spells: Yes
Additional Spell List: Wizard
Spell Prepare Type: -- (blank)
Knows All Spells: -- (blank)

I appreciate the assistance naruhoodie, but mostly I was trying to figure out why a basic functionality of the homebrewer I had used plenty of times before had stopped working. Seeing as it seems to have resolved itself, I'm guessing it must have been a bug in the system. 🤷
FWIW (6 years in the future) I am having the same issue/bug happening. Hoping it resolves itself like yours seemed to! Just commenting for anyone else googling for validation.

I've having the exact same issue; trying to create a homebrew Rogue subclass loosely based on the Soulknife. When I go to create one, there are no options under "select an existing Subclass as template" - see screenshot.
I definitely 100% own all the relevant books - I've created soulkinfe-based rogues before, like I made this subclass a while ago, went away and rethought it after some playtesting, then today deleted it and went to recreate, but seemingly can't?
Same issue here. I’m wondering if it relates to wizards removing the ability to purchase things ala-cart, as all my previous things were bought this way
I am also having this issue, I have never home-brewed a subclass and wanted to use the Drakewarden as a base. I own a lot of content and any class I select it says I have no options available. I went to my account and I have all the entitlements up to date so why can't I home-brew this, been trying for about a half hour now.
Mine still doesn't work on my laptop for some reason, but my workaround was starting the homebrew subclass on my phone browser (literally just select the subclass and click the button). Then that showed up correctly in "My Homebrew Creations" on my laptop, so I was able to finish creating the subclass from there.

Which class are you trying to make a subclass for? If it's Artificer, then there's the problem: no Artificer subclasses are free.

For clarity, I own all the content available on DDB, and I've made subclasses from scratch and from templates before. Including for Artificers.

Which subclass by the way?

I guess?
I use that 1/3 caster thing on a few homebrews, you have questions, just ask.

I guess. If it craps out again, I guess I'll be back.
I'll tinker around with it. If anything comes up, I'll let you know.

Sure, mainly mentioned since they're of the few cases where a copied official subclass's functionality doesn't work properly without tweaking.

Duly noted. Thanks.

Have you purchased access to those subclasses?

Yes, literally zero subclasses for any class show up. As the OP said, it was just a bug. It went away when I used a different device.

Any fix for this?

I am not seeing this issue.
