One of my private homebrew magic items just reverted back to its state that it was in this morning. I spent an hour or so editing the description of a homebrew item and saved my changes along the way many times, I even closed the tab multiple times and tested out the item in a character sheet and the changes were all still there. I came back after about an hour break and the item has reverted back to how it was before I made any changes. Obviously I'm pretty pissed about it and from now on will be saving things in a separate text document because I didn't know such a glaring bug could occur. What would cause this massive reverting of an item that has been saved? And is there any possible way to get back all my changes.
Note: I dont use a VPN, I dont have any add blockers.
I noticed that happened to a subclass I wrote recently too.
Thank you for your reply! Is there any explanation for this bug? I hope it can be fixed because Id rather not have to keep a folder of all my homebrew items just incase DnD Beyond Deletes them.
I think it might possibly have been caused by something the Devs did in the background that might have possibly caused a hiccup or something. If it happens again then I’d be worried.

That makes sense. If it happens again Ill update this thread.
Hi I Legit have the same problem on all of my Homebrew Items, I was wondering if you did yours from scratch or if you used a Base item for it. I dont wanna spend hours remaking if me making it from scratch does nothing either lol

🤷♂️ It only happened the one time. I’ve been homebrewing on this site for a few years and it hasn’t been a problem before.

Ok, I guess I just need to save it separately until its been a while. This is like my third homebrew item haha, guess I'm just unlucky.
