Barbarian Unarmored Defence bug/problem - Resolved

Because of Unarmored Defence my lv5 Barbarian with +3 dex and +2 con has 15 AC. However, without UD my character would have 16 AC due to their +3 proficiency bonus.

This happens with the 2014 and 2024 rules. The 2024 rules describe UD as "your base Armor Class equals 10 plus your Dexterity and Constitution modifiers." Does "base" not imply that if your AC without UD would be higher, it will use that?

Proficiency bonus is never calculated into AC though.
