When you read a spell description in the spell section of the site it has tooltips you can mouseover to get more information about various things, primarily conditions imposed. On the character sheet these tooltips don't show up, forcing you to then open it up in another tab to get the full information.
I asked the developer team about this a couple of weeks ago and the answer is that the tooltips are purposefully stripped for now, to ensure the character sheet would work properly.
They are aware just how useful they are and hope to add them back to the character sheet in the future.
If you are viewing things in the sidebar you can click the spell name or item or whatever and it will bring up the information in the sidebar and you can then just click "prev" at the top to go back. It's 2 clicks instead of a hover but faster than opening tabs, especially on mobile devices.

Hi there Unruly_Cow,
