I've crafted this very simple item for a PC. It's supposed to give a +2 to either INT or WIS but when I equip it into a character sheet, nothing happens. What am I doing wrong here?
Modifiers that give a choice like that don’t work on Magic Items. That would work on a racial trait, class feature, or feat, but not a Magic Item. Those modifiers grant their choices in the character builder, but magic items only interact with the character sheet, not the builder.
Interesting. Strange that they give me that as an option though? I can select "Choose Intelligence or Wisdom" so I don't understand why it wouldn't work. Thank you for looking at it!
Because the homebrewer isn’t actually a homebrewer. It is the exact same creation software the Devs use for official content. It was never designed to be “user friendly,” it was only ever designed to be functional for people who already know how it works. When DDB got permission from WotC to allow us to make homebrew, DDB quickly stuffed some functions behind Admin Privileges and opened the doors for us. Since the Devs already know that won’t work, there is no reason for them to not have it be visible.
