Sharing Content while not a DM

I noticed that I am able to select which content I share in the games where I am DM, but in a game where I am a player I can not deselect some sources. Is this a common issue?

Only the DM can select that.

Even when you do choose to not share some stuff, it still gets shared anyway, they just can’t read the book. But everything else still gets shared.
