Okay at first I thought it had something to do with not yet owning the PHB. But it let me pick it in character creation. I do own the D&D-B now.. how did I get Friends on an Avrae Charector !beyond sheet Even as "unknown".. I can't find the cantrip "friends" which is from the Players Hand Book I NOW DO own on Beyond?
What character are you making? (No idea what you meant by "Avrae")
The Friends cantrip is for bards, warlocks, wizards and sorcerers. It requires owning the PHB or having access to it. If you just purchased the book, refresh your browser.
If you do, then you have access to it but your character may not if they are not a class able to cast it. If you can view it directly and your character is of a class that can cast it please copy and paste the address URL of your character sheet (not the share link) so the mods can take a look.

The problem is I OWN the "D&D-B" PHB now, and D&D-B let me choose the Friends spell during creation of "Jarl of Jenisis Glade; Lord Archrischael Fae'tholosomon"-'s character. -- I don't recall if I bought it, singly or they let me with basic.. but it isn't listed with basic spells and even though I own it on D&D-B.. Now and it shows up on my sheet. https://www.dndbeyond.com/profile/Toddy_Shelfungus/characters/11379424
On "Avrae" a "Discord Bot".. That if I understand D&D-B now owns or is in supporting partnership with, That is designed to use the Rules; I do own here.. and not those I am not allowed, - - - to play on independent Discord servers out there.
so I am tracing back to find the missing link.
Since I own the D&D-B Friends cantrip: - - and passes it on to my !beyond !Char !sheet; - - but unlike the other spells; !cast fire bolt or !cast prestidigitation, ------- [which I also D&D-B] "own".] - - While !cast friends; doesn't call the 'spell description' or any required rolls. ------- [ not to harp (I own also here) ;^) -(while harping; strumming of angelic music) ]
If "Friends" was not on the basic list.. which was what I apparently was looking at.. & IF the problem IS here. - - I either bought the cantrip singly, ------- [and that Confused it,] - - or for some reason it let me have it as a creation choice even if not allowed. ------- [That would confuse it]
But seeing the 'Friends cantrip' link you showed me is here means.. the basic "Friends" data IS Here.
Summation; ------- [Okay Thanks]; - - Base "friends" data Is here, - - I just have to figure out which link in the system, between play and "D&D-B Book" is missing. And which part of the established logistics chain is losing this particular "product". Here.. farther on.. or even the settings of the ending discord server?!
Will have to head back to the "Avrae" development discord server, - - To see if they just don't have; the link, sorc. tag or ?, on their list of cantrip links.
I do not recall D&D Beyond ever being in partnership or owning Avrae, there was a talk about them making their own variant. From what I understand, Avrae, is a 3rd party software and your complaint seems to be an issue with that not with D&D Beyond. I recommend contacting the developers behind it.
I may be wrong on this, however, since I didn't know what Avrae even was until now. Which, having used D&D beyond for 2 years now, is probably an indication that either it's not a D&D beyond product or I'm a lot more oblivious to things than I thought.

I can confirm that DDB has obtained Avrae and has hired Avrae's developer. Badeye announced it during a developer's update....I think the first announcement came in the developer's update that happened from The Descent, but I could be wrong. He's mentioned it in each developer's update since. I haven't seen anything in the forums about it, so if you primarily follow the forums and not the developer's update, it would be easy to miss.
The Friends spell is not a part of the Basic Rules / SRD, it is a part of the Player's Handbook.
D&D Beyond did acquire the Avrae bot, but the partnership is still in the early stages. There is no current way to access purchased content on the bot without manually entering in the information yourself. This is a plan for future development, not a current feature.
As I now own the whole player's handbook, and that buying singley issue still exists. I added it to a homebrew tome. To quit having to look up the wording when casting on Discord.
I would assume this may be a more generic issue for items bought on D&D-Beyond singley.
But thank you this has helped me figure where to look for a temporary fix until a permanent one arrives.
