So I sent links to some of my characters to my girlfriend and when she opened, an error occurred and the character was not visible. She sent me one of hers as well, and I can't view the sheet. All of the characters that were sent were all sent to public. I am probably doing something wrong and there is probably a simple solution. If anyone knows a way how to fix this, an answer would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Try creating a campaign here and adding the characters to it. If the characters are public, you should search be able to see the others character sheet.
were you sending the full url or the share link? If the full url, try the share link.
what was the error message?
Cy3rM1nd’s request for the link is also an excellent suggestion.
Turns out there was a problem with DDB (probably) causing this. The first few reports (including this one) looked to me (and I’m guessing others) to be a matter of folks either not understanding how things worked or particular idiosyncrasies. But then things cascaded, the whole site slowed to a crawl, and most folks—maybe even all of us—couldn’t access our own characters, not just other peoples public ones. I notice that I can now see the character who you linked above. They did warn on Facebook that things could still be unstable for a few days as they figure out exactly what went wrong and fix the originating cause. They recommend exporting to pdf any characters you need for games in the next little bit.

Here's the link that I shared to her

You need to send her a link to the campaign, not to the character.

Alright, everything is working now. Thanks again for the help. I'm still new to figuring out how D&D Beyond works.
