Whenever I click on the icon, it briefly opens (maybe 1/2 a second) and closes. Then I get a message "D&D Beyond quit unexpectedly."
My WiFi is working, and my app is updated. I've also restarted my computer at least a couple times since this first started and the same problem persists.
MacOS is for Macs. Even if it's "designed" for iPads, doesn't mean its imcompatible with Macs. I've been using this app since August as a Mac App and it's been fine. It only recently became a problem.

DDB does not make an app for Macs (or for Windows). I know of no way of running an iPad app on a Mac. (And I’ve been using Macs since 1985 and iPads since 2015). If there is a way, it is not officially sanctioned by Apple, and therefore likely to run into odd issues.

M1 MacBook Air has iOS app support.
I tried downloading the app on my Mac and it works fine, have you tried deleting the app and install it again?

Aha! That’s what I get for not having the newest machines. That’s for the correction and explanation.

There isn't currently a D&D Beyond app for macOS, only mobile devices.
That’s an iPad app, not a Mac app. Are you working on an iPad Air?
