I just created a level 20 star druid to act as an NPC. The snippit text of Star Map tells me she should be able to cast guiding bolt 6 times per long rest without a spell slot, but she is limited to 2 uses per long rest.
That's weird, I've definitely homebrewed class features that scale on proficiency bonus. You just have to manually enter the uses per level and make sure it aligns with proficiency bonus

Circle of Stars - Star Map. This should grant a number of uses equal to your proficiency bonus. We don't currently have the facility to implement this within our tools. This is on the list for development.
They have actually added the ability to designate PB as a legitimate metric for limited use data. They had to because so many of the new subclasses have features that use PB as a metric. If you look at any of the other subclasses that use PB like that, their features work. But those features are all handled as “Actions” in DDB’s system, and this is the only subclass with a feature like this that has a Spell attached.
If you create a homebrew subclass and add a feature that adds an Action, when you eventually get to add the Limited Use you’ll find that they’ve added a checkbox labeled “Use Proficiency Bonus.” However, if you “Add a Spell” as part of that class feature you’ll find that there is no checkbox for that yet, the only two choices are “Number of Uses” requiring a fixed integer, and “Uses by Ability Modifier” which a dropdown.
Sooner or later they will have to add that capacity, but I wonder how they will do it. If they add it as a checkbox like they did for Actions, it would work, but it would be limited to just being that one function and it will add more clutter to the form. If instead they alter “Uses by Ability Modifier” to just “Uses By,” then they could just change each Ability to read [Ability] Modifier, add stuff to the list such as PB, but also potentially other stuff too. That might help them “future proof” the system for whatever else WotC might throw at them.
There are also subclasses like WotFE for Monks, and Aberrant Mind Sorcerers that could work a bit better as well. I hope they do something like change “Consumes Spell Slots” from a Yes/No dropdown and turn it to “Consumes Resources” and have the list include not only Spell Slots, but also Charges, as well as an either/or option. Wouldn’t it be nice if we could hit the [CAST] button and it automatically expended the correct number of Ki or Sorcery points? I for one would love that kinda functionality.

I see. Still, it seems like a better option than just not scaling it at all. After all, multiclassing is an optional rule
Yeah that's fair enough, I'll just have to remember the 6 uses for now

This is useful information, I can now streamline that subclass feature. Thank you!
