problem with defense fighting style for Paladin

A new player joined our group and picked the defense fighting style for the Paladin and instead of just giving them a +1 to AC it is giving them a +4. Anyone else have this glitch? I know I can override it but its annoying.

There is a periodic bug where bonuses from a fighting style get stacked like that. They (or you as DM) just have to go to the character builder and unselect their fighting style by setting it to the top option with the “—,” they will likely have to do that a few times until it “sticks.” Once done they can reselect the fighting style and all should be well again.
