One of my players is running in to a strange calculation with her attack rolls. She's a level 3 Shifter Monk, 20 Dex, which if she uses a weapon she's proficient with, I believe her max modifier should be +7. Instead, her beyond sheet is calculating a +9. Am I missing something? Is there a way to see the calculation trace for where the sheet is getting the numbers?

Is it a +2 weapon?

No, the only magical weapon she has is a blink dagger which simply just lets her return the weapon back to her for a Bonus Action. No modifiers added.

Addon:
It's adding the +9 for everything: Blink Dagger, Quarterstaff, unarmed strike, not just a specific weapon.

I'd guess that it's some incorrectly made homebrew that's doing it. Does she have any homebrew items that grant her expertise in anything?

What Subrace and subclass?

Any other Magic Items?

She does have a set of Goggles of Night to boost her darkvision

Their Dex is only 17, so the attack mod should only be +5. What is “A Spoon Full is Sugar?”

Sorry, I was looking at the modifier with proficiency which jumped to "20"

Spoon full of Sugar was more just a fun item. Whatever she eats with it becomes sweet, it doesn't modify her character at all.

When I followed the link to the blink dagger it lists some kind of bonus to Dexterity based attacks. It looks like the Author attaches a modifier that adds a bonus to Dex based attacks but did not include it in the description of the item.

Added it from someone else. But that looks like it's the issue. Whenever it's equipped it affects everything else that's equipped. That was an oversight on my part.
