I run a Library game for teens at a local library and maintain the characters for a few players who can't access DnDBeyond. We only meet once a month, and that slowed a little when we went to online the past few months, but we are finally leveling up to 3rd.
One of the players has the UA Archived Artificer, and when I tried to level her up, it shows I need to select the 3rd Level Specialty, and the text indicates Alchemist or Artillerist but the drop down box only displays the 'Choose An Option' - there are no options to choose from.
I figure before I try to rebuild the character with the officially released Artificer, i would report this to see if there is a simple fix, as some of the options that have been dropped in the official version have already been used by the player, so I'd rather stick to the UA archived version if possible.
This is to do with how archiving full classes works, which has only happened twice so far. The subclass options are archived independently from the base class, meaning if you have an archived artificer that hasn't selected a subclass, you will be unable to select a subclass and thus level up the character.
I would recommend remaking end character using the finalised artificer rules
They recently put out a patch for those archived UAs to allow those options to work. But it might not apply to the old Artificer UAs because it officially got published.

Any suggestions?

Ah, I was worried it was something like that. I suppose I'll have to figure out how to homebrew the options that are disappearing.
Thanks for the info.
