So i have been using a lot of templates of subclasses to build off of so i don't have to add new leveling place for where the features go, where to display them and what level they are gained at. But recently the past 3 that i have made they all say that they are too similar to the subclass that I have used as a template, I mean they weren't all that similar i mean I made an entire cleric about necromantic stuff and fighting yet since i used the life cleric domain template, it says it's too similar to the Life domain, a cleric bent on killing things etra dead is too similar to a life cleric. I've also made a Collage of Divinity Bard which is all about support and having cleric spells, yet somehow it's too similar too the College of lore. I have also made a The Trashman pact for the Warlock who i have made to be a powerful being with good intentions, and powerful abilities but its too similar to The Fiend pact for the warlock.
Any help would be wonderful, All i want to do is make my own life easier for making things i love by using the templates. Please help!
the system only checks for those compliance’s when the main save button is hit. Re-save the entire homebrew to trigger a new compliance recheck.
Friendly advice: DON’T PUBLISH. At least not yet. Once you publish you can no longer edit it. To make changes you have to jump through hoops and it leaves unintended side effects. Give it at least a couple months of solid playtesting and editing to save yourself from future headaches. You do not need to publish something for you and your friends to use it. Anything in your homebrew “collection” is automatically shared with people in campaigns with you.
