If a normal equipment item is added (Spellbook) then custom named (Master Spellbook) and notes are added, if another of the same item is added without the custom name, rather than its own line, it changes the quantity and name on the original. In this instance I’m trying to track multiple spell books I’ve found through an adventure so I want to note what spells are in each and need to differentiate them.
That only happens if the item in question stacks in inventory. Unfortunately, books are one of those items. For situations like that I make customized Homebrew “magic items” for each spell book like this:
