Did you select fixed or manual HP? It sounds like you selected manual.
In the Rolled HP box you want to put the die value you rolled without modifiers, so for your case 10. The sheet will then add your con mod and any other applicable features.
At subsequent levels you would add 6,8, or whatever you rolled on a d10.
This is a bug. If you select Manual HP before selecting a class - it will always set it to 12 regardless of your class. If you select Manual after selecting a class it will always be correct.
This has been reported before but mods always assume player error - which it is not.
It's easy to fix by changing the rolled HP to what it should be - but it doesn't stop it being a bug.

To clarify - I've verified this as a bug and it has been passed along to the development team (though I acknowledge that I should have conveyed this information - that's on me).
I made a lvl 1 wood elf fighter, using max hps option at first level.
The rolled hps are showing 12, rather than 10. 1d10 for fighter, +2 for my Con bonus.
So it seems to think I have 14 hps.

Good to know, yes it is manual...just thought it was odd that it defaulted to 12 when max roll should be 10.
Thanks!
