I'm trying to set up my rogue assassin, and at a level three I should have Thief, Assassin and Arcane Trickster available, but the character creator only offers you Thief. Am I missing something?
Those are the three backgrounds available in the Player's Handbook, which is not free content. The free content (largely the Basic Rules/SRD for subclasses) only contains one subclass per class -- Thief, in this case. To use one of the other subclasses you would need to either purchase the content here on the site (the whole book, or just the subclasses or the individual subclass) or recreate it using the homebrew tools, if you own a physical copy of the book and don't want to pay the $2 for the subclass.
