the staff's category is set to item instead of weapon so when someone adds and attunes to it it only shares the info of the item and does not roll the attack or anything.
i know where you roll it but i literally had to go to homebrew and bring up the Staff of Striking to see its properties and the type of "thing" it is categorized as is an item and not a weapon. so when you hit the +9, for example, to roll it does not roll, it only brings up the items information along with if you are using beyond20 extension it just simply pops the items information up into the roll 20 page. Same with the damage, had to make a "homebrew" version for personal use that had it categorized as a weapon and not an item for it to actually roll attack and damage from your character sheet.
The staff of striking works 100% on the character sheet I just added it to. It gains the +3 bonus to attack and damage rolls once attuned to. The issues you are experiencing are likely attributed to the use of Beyond20, a third-party extension that is not officially supported by D&D Beyond. Disabling the extension should show normal item function.
Ahh, so that's what happened. There's been some issues lately with Beyond20, and also some issues with the new DDB dice roller pop-up box getting covered by the right info sidebar popping out, especially when doing Attack and Damage rolls.
And in general magic staffs are defined as items, but also get displayed in the Attacks section with quarterstaff stats, so it's not a specific problem with the Staff of Striking.
Either way, you're right to report the problem. Though some of it seems to need fixing on the Beyond20 side, which is not maintained by DDB.
yes it does add to the "to hit" and the "damage" properly, that isnt the issue i had mentioned. And yes beyond 20 may be part of the issue, but even without the extention when clicking on the "to hit" or "damage" boxes it wouldn't roll the dice, only have the sidebar pop out.
but again its fine cause i sent screenshots and a ticket in.

The Staff of Striking is programmed as a “Staff” and not as a “weapon,” just as you described. Very recently this Magic item did not add an attack to a character sheet at all. It appears that they are taking steps to allow non-weapon magic items to finally add actions to character sheets. (Huzzah!!)
Likely this is a combination of this being a (very) new upgrade to the magic items’ programming, coupled with some issue caused by some add-on. Please turn off/remove all add/popup blockers, browser extensions, and any VPN you may be using and see if it works after that. Then, turn them on one-at-a-time to determine which is causing the issue. (It might be Beyond20, but it might be some other completely innocuous seeming thing (like a popup blocker or a darkmode extension) causing a bad interaction with DDB.

You roll the attacks from the Actions section, under Attacks.
