On my PC today while I ran my game in my various encounters I was running every now and then I would roll a random d20 just for fun. After I rolled 3 dice with all of them lagging out and simply generating the number 4 supposedly I tried something different. I rolled 8d20 to which it lagged out again only worse and generated a string of 8 results of 4 totaling to 32. I tried it again and it still rolled 4. I moved on but now while browsing on my phone I came back to the site and tried again wondering if it was a PC only bug. Much to my surprise it’s not. The first die I rolled was somehow able to make a 12 but then I rolled three more times all of which were lagged out and were 4. I’m not sure what’s going on but I know this is definitely an issue that needs to be brought up to the team. This is only on the actual run screen, while sitting there looking at the encounter not running it the dice roll normally.
My PC is running the most up to date version of chrome and my phone is the iPhone XS Max running iOS 13.6 and the most up to date version of chrome as well.
Hi Trexdrew. I was able to reproduce the lag issue at first, but now it seems to be working correctly again. Can you try again and let me know if you're still having this issue?
If you are, could you include a screenshot or screen recording? I will pass it along to the team to investigate.

I encountered the same issue on Saturday, 22-Aug while rolling from my character sheet.
I was using my iPad, and had the issue occur in both Safari and Edge for iPad. It was the same as described above, a roll would work just fine, then it would lag and always roll a 4 on the d20. I didn't try other dice. I did reboot my iPad, with no luck, but the five other players on the campaign didn't have any issues. They had a mix of PCs running Chrome and Edge, iPad running Chrome, and Fire tablet with Silk. I'm not sure on hardware acceleration; I'll check my iPad later. Every time I closed and reopened the browser and the lag first hit, I did get an iPad request for the site to access motion and tilt information.
I’m having the same issue. I’ve seen it on an iPad and an iPhone 8 using Safari. I get one normal roll if I click on the character sheet, then subsequent rolls are silent, lag, often quit animating with only the shadow of the die visible, and d20 always rolls 4. If I use the dice from the manual roll thing in the bottom left, I think this happens on first try, too, and each die has its own set number that seems to be where it gets stuck.
after the first or second roll, a pop up will ask me to allow the site to use motion detection (or something like this). Whether dismissed or accepted, the problem still appears.
I was able to “clear” the issue by deleting the dndbeyond website's data from the Safari Settings menu on the iPad. Returning to the site and logging back in got me I think two good rolls before failure? Not sure if it was the data clear or the resulting logout that did it. May be the same thing for practical purposes?
i was unable to locate any hardware acceleration settings for mobile Safari.
and for the record I had no issue with the dice prior to last week. I believe it worked fine on my computer (mac, chrome) on Monday and then was malfunctioning on my iPad on Tuesday. When it still failed this week, I tried my phone, checked the website for any settings related to dice, and then searched support for “dice”...you get the picture.

Hi Trexdrew, I got a response back from the team.
Do you have hardware acceleration enabled in your browser? You should be able to find it in your browser settings.

Hi! Thanks for the information about iOS Safari. I've passed that information along to the team.
