So it's easy enough to use [ Monster ]Banshee[ / Monster ] (without the spaces) to have your Homebrew monster's thing mention a banshee. For example, "Bob was killed by a Banshee and now haunts these halls..."
However, how do you use that Monster command to link to a Homebrew monster?
Like what if I wanted to say a "Salarian Banshee" (just making up words) and had made a homebrew monster called "Salarian Banshee"?
I had assumed as much because if two people have a homebrew (monster, for example) with the same name, it wouldn't be able to understand which one to pull from. Wasn't sure if there was a "cheat" to make it happen (like using some form of BBCode or HTML).
There was, but I could never get it to work and I was warned against it as that function was supposed to get broken during an update. I honestly don’t know if the hack still works.

EDIT: I read up here:

But neither mentions linking to homebrew monsters.

Those kinds of links are called “Tooltips” and it is impossible to tooltip homebrews. You can read up on them here: https://www.dndbeyond.com/forums/dungeons-dragons-discussion/homebrew-house-rules/9811-how-to-add-tooltips
