This is critical. I make updates to my character sheet. It says "saved". I reload, or come back to it later, and the changes were not saved. They're gone.
Added items, Item Customizations, text in Other Possessions. Sometimes it saves, sometimes it doesn't.
I can't trust my own sheet. Items or item changes are lost. This is important.
examples: Minutes ago, I added custom values to 10 item names, and added cost values. I reloaded the page to see if they were saved. Only 4 of them retained the custom entries. Another time, I spent 20 minutes updating my "Other Possessions". I noticed, a day later, that all of the new item text was missing. I had already deleted that text from my local text file. So most of it was lost. I think this has happened with currency, as well.
It’s a server caching error. Log out and back in. That will trigger the server to clear its cache. Then just wait 15-20 minutes to make sure that everything has all caught up to itself. It usually happens faster, but 15ish is the max it will ever take. After that your changes should save properly.
Logging out and back in right before games in general is a good safe practice just to be on the safe side.
I'll try that. but it's still not okay. This can happen during game sessions. This makes it impossible to know what's actually saved there. What if I have several dndbeyond tabs open; must I close all of them? And I'm not sure that explains the data lag/loss from 24 hours prior. (actually, that definitely does not explain it.)
On a related note, I don't know the effects of having a character sheet open on multiple machines. If updates made are overwritten by a browser where those updates had not been made. There are times when I will have a sheet open on my main PC, and also check it on my laptop, or my phone. (though, I do not believe that was the case during these examples.)
addendum: it's a day later, and it's happening again. Costs and notes I entered yesterday are gone today.
I added a homebrew item that grants 1 AC when equipped. The +1 AC was being displayed. I then reloaded the page. Now, it is not. Un-equipping and re-equipping does not make it update AC.
I've been running into this for the past few days and bumbled into something that may help - it seems the changes made disappear when I click a link in the tab where my character sheet is, and then click back to return to the character sheet. Every time it makes my changes disappear, but this time I went back to my character sheet as though I had just logged in (specifically I hovered over my username in the top-right, clicked campaigns, and then clicked View under the character I had been working on). All the changes I had made which had vanished were now back.
So, in short, don't go back, only go forward, and you should be fine. I hope this helps!

Oh yes, never go back unless you are intentionally trying to undo something.
Did you try logging out and logging back in as suggested? YES
Are you using a VPN, adblocker, or any browser extensions? If so, try turning them mall off and see if that fixes it. Yes I have some of the following and I will Absolutely NOT shut them off
Do you have the character open in more than one browser tab? NO
Are you using the back button? NO
This is an D&D Beyond issue and it needs to be fixed, the product is not functional like this, if it is not compatible with other browser extensions they need to make it compatible (not sure that this is the issue) but id expect the product to just plain work and it does not.
The character sheet saves just fine for me. If you aren't willing to try turning off you browser extensions, etc., to see if that helps, then I'm not sure I--or anyone else--can help you. That said, I would suggest that you submit a support ticket by clicking on "contact us" below.
whenever i reload my character sheet all my spells show back up. if i have ever added them, even if i deleted them, they're there. cannot swap out spells it is very annoying

I need help as well i'm having difficulty in the View area i cant save the "fancy changes" like the background portrait and the color of the border could i get some advice on this?
Same here. I did not even start. Created my Blood Hunter and tried to add weapon and armor. After I hit the button, it´s still unarmed combat only, the checkboxes for weapon and armor empty. But everytime I save, I get another silver. Really annoying.

Did you equip the weapons and armor in addition to adding them to your inventory?
Please post a link to your character, so someone can take a look.

Oy, I'm just running into this problem now - three years after the initial post and this is still not fixed??
