So I've been working on this subclass called the Raven Knight for a while now, and I'm not sure what's wrong with it. While the base template I used was the Champion, I completely changed every ability, and yet it still says that it's too similar to champion. I'm not sure what's wrong, so I could definitely use some assistance here, since I want to post it to a google doc me and my friends use to keep track of our home-brew. Thank you, I'd be much appreciative to figure this out sooner rather than later.
Try making a new one from scratch and then copy your old class in google docs then paste its features to the new one you made and scratch but before that delete the old one.
Well, I just tried that as per your advice, and now, the new one says its too similar to the Circle of Spores Druid (?????????) and that it doesn't have the correct class features at the correct levels, even though its a fighter subclass with features at 3rd, 7th, 10th, 15th, and 18th level, so I'm now at a loss.
Apparently- I figured out the issue. It was my use of "Ravenloft" in the description of the class. Me out here forgetting Castle Ravenloft is an actual thing, hurr durr. So now it's Castle Ravenboldt, and it seems to work just fine.
It had nothing g to do with your using the word “Ravenloft.” You most likely used the Champion as your template, right? So when you created the itin the begin ing it was an identical copy of the Champion, and therefore too similar to allow publication at that time. The system only checks those compliances when the main [SAVE CHANGES] button under Basic Information is hit. You most likely never re-saved the whole subclass until you changed the word to “Ravenbolt,” right? If you went and changed it back to Ravenloft it would still be publishable.

THANK GOD.
Having a description that is blank or too short, etc can cause a lot of these "too similar" false flags.
Adding to the description and clicking save usually does the trick.

Thank you, that actually sounds like it would work! I'll keep that in mind for future subclass creations!
