Recently my DM gave me a Staff of Healing. It has combat statistics, but every time I try to use any of the features to use it as a weapon, it only posts the staff's description to the VTT in this case playing on Discord with the Beyond 20 plugin. I'm not sure if this applies to other magic items/staves or not, but it is annoying.
Yes, any Staff, including the Staff of Healing can be used as a Quarterstaff. But the Staffs were not actually coded in DDB as having the stats for a Quarterstaff. You can do one of two things:
You can either add a Quarterstaff to your character’s inventory and hit “customize” to reduce the weight to 0 and change the name to “Staff of Healing.”
You can go to the magic item homebrewer and make a staff using the Staff of Healing as a template and then change it from being a Staff to being a Weapon and sel citing the Quarterstaff as the Weapon Type. Then you would just have to remove the original from your character sheet and replace it with your modified version.
I hope that helps.
PS- DDB has absolutely nothing to do with either Beyond20, nor with Roll20, and can do absolutely nothing about how information gets displayed either by or through those services.
