It’s supposed to be for short rest but the check box says long rest and the write up on the sheet reads weird:
”
Natural RecoveryPHB, pg. 68
Once per long rest during a short rest, you choose expended spell slots to recover. The spell slots can have a combined level of up to 4, and none of the slots can be 6th level or higher.
It happens on a short rest, but that’s not what you’re seeing. The checkbox next to “Natural Recovery: (No Action) 🔲/Long Rest” has nothing to do with the “during a short rest,” that is there to track the “Once per long rest” part. You can only do it one time per long rest, so that is what it’s tracking for you so you know if you used it already or not every time you take a short rest.
Remember, what you read on the character sheet is abridged. Tap/click that to see the full text:
Starting at 2nd level, you can regain some of your magical energy by sitting in meditation and communing with nature. During a short rest, you choose expended spell slots to recover. The spell slots can have a combined level that is equal to or less than half your druid level (rounded up), and none of the slots can be 6th level or higher. You can’t use this feature again until you finish a long rest.
For example, when you are a 4th-level druid, you can recover up to two levels worth of spell slots. You can recover either a 2nd-level slot or two 1st-level slots.

Ah, thank you; the grammar structure confused me. Granted English is very confusing, but now that you point out it’s intended meaning I understand.
