So I read the guide for making a subclass but it didn't address my issue at all. I added some homebrew spells to go along with it but I'm having trouble adding properly. I want to add them as spell options but it will only add them as "always prepared". I don't want them to be always prepared, just available. Is there a way to do this?
Let me guess, it’s either an Artificer, Cleric, Druid, or Paladin. Right? When you add spells under “addition specific spells for the subclass, when the parent class “prepares” spells instead of “learning” them. Delete those outta there. (If this had been a Sorcerer, Bard, Warlock, or Ranger, it would have worked as you expected.) For your subclass, what you have to do is create a class feature for whichever level they pick the subclass. Then as part of that feature, scroll all the way down to the bottom and where it says “additional spell list,” click “add a spell list.” Add your spells there, and then re-save the whole subclass using the main [SAVE CHANGES] button under Basic Information. It may take a few minutes for the changes to kick in for that character sheet, so be patient.

Weird. I could've sworn that's exactly how I did it before but I deleted the feature and re-added it and it worked. Thank you
