I’m trying to add firearms into my characters inventory, after purchasing the DMG, but items like firearms and muskets don’t appear under the Add Items tab while gunpowder and bullets do.
Except for specific cases (Critical Role gunslinger additional content) but most classes offered by WotC don't have proficiency in firearms so you have to Unclick the Proficient box in order for the firearm weapons to show up.
I'm sorry I don't understand, can someone explain?
When looking for items to add to your equipment, you know how you go to the Equipment section of your character sheet and click “manage equipment?” Then, you search for a firearm and none come up, right? Look at the settings for the stuff you are searching and you’re gonna see a checkbox labeled “Proficient.” If that box is checked, it will only show you weapons with which your character is proficient. The only characters in the entire game that are actually proficient with firearms are the Gunslinger subclass for fighters, and the Artificer class. So, if you want to add a firearm to your character, and you aren’t a Gunslinger or an Artificer, then you have to uncheck the “proficient” box or it won’t show you any. You also need access to the DMG for the standard firearms too since those weapons are in that book. Otherwise it will only show you the firearms from Exandria.
The Weapon Master feat doesn't let you choose Firearms. It specifically lets you choose "a simple or a martial weapon" for each choice - and firearms aren't either of them - they're "firearms weapon". If you want proficiency in Firearms then you need to either take the Firearm Specialist feat or the Gunner (UA) feat.

How do you do that?
Firearm Specialist is a feat from Mat Mercer, so you need to turn on "Critical Role" content on the home page of your character
Gunner is now published in Tasha's Cauldron of Everything, so it is no longer available as a UA feat. You would need to purchase the feat from Tasha's (or all of Tasha's)
Then you add the feat to your character: if you are doing it instead of an ASI at a level where your character gets and ASI or feat, you do so through the class tab of the builder. If your DM is allowing you to add a feat outside of that rule, click on the "Manage Feats" button in the Features and traits section of the character sheet. (If I remember correctly, you have to scroll to the bottom to find it)

That worked perfectly, thank you
