So, i made a homebrew subclass for bloodhunter that i wanted to have access to the paladin spell list, so i used the profane soul as a template and reskinned it. I put the spell list into the basic info section, and even went as far as adding all the spells manually into a class feature also, and when i access the character it says i don't have any spells to manage. how do i fix this?
The Profane Soul doesn’t “prepare” their spells, they “know” them just like Warlocks, Sorcerers, Bards, and Rangers. In addition, the way Blood Hunters were programmed, their subclasses cannot use the Spellcasting feature, they can only use the Pact Magic feature, There is no way to change either of those two facts. Which also means that the subclass cannot have “always prepared” spells either.
I’m not exactly sure what you did, but all you need to do is, under “Basic Information” for the subclass, make sure that “additional specific spell list” has “Paladin, “can cast spells” is set to “yes,” that you designate a spellcasting ability, and leave those other fields blank. You also need to make sure the subclass has a class feature named “Pact Magic.”

I hope that helps.
