Tried to create an item to cast a homebrew spell of mine, but when I tried to link the spell multiple version of the spell, even if I only had the most up to date one in my collection, are showing and I can't seem to be able to select the most updated once. I figured that out when putting the item on a character, I can see that the spell it gives to the character isn't the most updated one. Is this an issue with the system or did I really just got unlucky and didn't select the right one?
That is one of the reasons to not publish homebrews until they are absolutely finished. You don’t need to publish them to use them. You will now always be haunted of those ghosts of the old versions whenever you go through spells to add to other things from now on. To save yourself from headaches like this in the future, it is best practice to thoroughly playtest and edit your homebrews before sharing them with the community. You and your players can always use your homebrews, even the unpublished ones.
It should be the last one in the list all the way at the bottom, that should be the most recent version.
Yeah I understand that. But this doesn't actually doesn't fix my issue. I have made those mistakes, now I have an issue with those mistakes. I want to be able to fix my mistakes. Also, the last one is still outdated. I shouldn't have to be "haunted by those ghosts of the old versions" when using any application. Just to be clear I'm not bashing on your reply @Iamsoposta but it doesn't actually help my issue.
Oh, I agree with you 100%. Trust me, I have to deal with those ghosts too, and I think they’re just as stinky.
You might have clicked on the last one you saw listed, but scroll lower down and make sure you far the absolute last one in the list with that name. That really should be it.
