So I'm trying to make a "spellthief" subclass for rouge, admittedly being borrowed from the d&d wiki -- granted I give credit to the page in the description. Buuut, when I go to save it and put it into the community, it says that it's too similar to the "thief" subclass. Yet the link takes me to a 404 page. I search up "thief" in the subclasses search, and while quite a few items show up, none of them are just simply "thief." Hell, there's three different "time thief"'s -- and while they might be distinct enough, I just find it ironic. Is there anything I'm missing, or is this an actual mistake -- maybe there even was a "thief" page that had just gotten removed, but is still in the prerequisites to be made into a published subclass?
1) it is against the ruLes here to publish homebrew that is not your on creation, even if you give the creator credit. So please don’t publish this one. You can still share it in your campaign without having published it.
2) if you run into the issue with a different, original homebrew make sure you have saved using the save button in the topmost section, as only when it is saved there are the checks run again that produce that error.

It is not saying that it is too similar to someone else’s homebrew, they are say that it is too similar to the original subclass that I linked above.
Try re-saving the entire subclass, it will only a check that compliance when the main [SAVE CHANGES] button has been clicked.
If you did not originally writ your “spellthief” subclass then it would be against both site rules and the law for you to share it with the comunity. You can use it privately, and everyone DDB campaigns with you can also use your subclass. So you can make it, and you can use it, but please do not share it with the comunity.

The Thief subclass is in the Player's Handbook.
If you don't own the PHB, you won't see it.(Edit: nope, it's in the Basic Rules too.)Not so. Yes, the Thief is in the PHB but it was also printed in the Basic Rules and is the only Rogue Subclass available to everyone for free:

You are correct, of course. Apologies for the misremembered misinformation.
