This is the error message I get when I attempt to access a character in one of my campaigns "9aaa5d1052474c82924277b9a8608e1e". All the other character open without a problem. This one does not.
You mean a 403? And it's probably broken homebrew. Try editing their character and removing any homebrew to see if it fixes it.
A good place to start is something that provides spells above level 9 (intentionally or otherwise) - it can happen (I believe) when something provides spells that can be cast at a level equal to spent charges - which means if they provide more than 9 charges - they can be cast above 9 and the character sheet does not like that.
Yes, 403 Forbidden error, thanks. I can't get into the character to edit it. And, as far as I can recall, this particular character doesn't have any homebrew items on her. (In reviewing my homebrew, she may have a homebrew background, the Medium. If so, she's had the same background for the last couple of years.)
The character is dual class bard/warlock, bard is college of spirits, and the warlock has the Undead patron, both UA. I have another character that has the bard college of spirits and it opens fine. Also, I just created a warlock and added the Undead patron. No problem editing the new character.
Thanks for the ideas, but without the ability to edit the character. I'm not sure how to fix it.
If you're the DM of the campaign - you can go directly to the builder by clicking Edit on their character from the campaign menu. Is that 403'ing as well?

Yes, it is. It's a slightly different screen with a larger dragon image, but it's the same problem.
In that case it's likely something only a moderator can diagnose - and I rarely ever see any on a weekend. You'll want to bump this thread again on Monday.
To be clear, is your player also unable to access their own character sheet too? If they can open it and you cannot then it may legit be an issue on your end.
Otherwise, did your player’s Subscription expire? If so, they will not be able to access any of their characters until they either designate the 6 to remain unlocked, or resubscribe. If that’s not it then follow the excellent advice Emmber has given you. However, when you bump this on Monday, don’t post “Bump.” That’s actually a violation of DDB’s policy and you’ll get told not to do it again. Since the Mods will need the URL for that character sheet anyway, post that instead.
@IamSposta Yep, I asked the person who's character I'm having problems with to see if she could access her character, and she got the same error I did. I also checked using a different browser, and after deleting all my cookies and getting back into DnD Beyond. Same error in all cases.

From a troubleshooting perspective, I've cleared cookies from my browser, and I've used a different browser and it makes no difference. I still get the same 403 Forbidden error.

Hey there - I spoke with the team regarding this. It looks like this is occurring because your player's hero subscription lapsed and their characters are currently locked. They would just need to go to the My Characters screen, pick out the six characters they want unlocked and that should allow access to the characters in any campaign they're in again.

I'll pass this along to the team.

Ah, okay -- I've passed that along. I think she only has a free subscription, so I'm not sure what else she needs to do, but I'll see.
I had figured that was likely the case, which is why I had also suggested they check that as well.
