i'm encountering most of my crashes when i select something in the character creation or load something like a new tab or have a look at my character sheets.
Just using the content of the digital books, nothing homebrew. No VPN, no adblock. Maybe it's because I'm from germany? Sometimes everything works perfectly, but the crashes are rather frequently. I was keeping tabs about the crashes but it's always another. Crashes direct me to the site with the beholder and the text:
Whoops! We rolled a 1 on our API check. We're heading into town to visit the blacksmith for repairs.
It happens when you are trying to gather information from the server too quickly, specially if you are updating sheets or saving homebrew it will throw up an error because its trying to read the database at the same time as writing to it. There is nothing that can be done about it, you just have to take things a bit slower.
I can tell you however, the API error happens on retrieval, not saving, of said information. So you dont have to worry about loosing the information, just a matter of either back page/arrow to the previous page when you get that message, keep doing it if you get the same error again, or going through the menu links to get to it.
PS: There are small times it happens when it does it to itself as well.
To be honest, you might have some browser extension that does something completely unrelated to DDB, but as part of its function it queries the server and throws a tilt. (Although, usually when that’s the problem it just constantly triggers reCAPTCHA to make sure you aren’t a bot.

Try again after a Short Rest.

I don't know if there's anything I can do to reduce or eliminate those unconvenient crashes. Hopefully somebody can help and enlighten me.
