You can't. Just roll a d8 whenever you cast a damage spell.
If you truly need to for some reason or just want extra spiffiness, you can just click the focus, customise, and rename it to add "Arcane Firearm" to the name, or add it in the Notes. You can also add a custom action to roll the D8 easier and have it show the name in the roll.

I'm playing on D&D Beyond and trying to get my Artificer damage rolls to work as expected. I'm trying to get this Arcane Firearm to apply to my wand.:
