I was looking at the War Domain Cleric and I saw 2 things which interested me. Shield of Faith for +2 AC and War Priest, which allows you to take a second attack as a bonus action (the number of times determined by your wisdom modifier per long rest).
There's a thread there about Giant Elk being poor because you never get to use your Hooves. But if you take a 1 level dip into Cleric you'd be able to knock things prone, and then get them while they were down. You would also get +2 AC from Shield of Faith.
Martial weapons and heavy armour is still taboo, but you could try to find some workaround to take advantage of this too...
Has anyone run a Moon Druid War Cleric Multiclass and done this? Has anyone stopped you using the bonus action because it says "weapon attack"?
The Giant Elk writeup specifically calls out Hooves as a "Melee Weapon Attack:" so this seems viable. In fact, this seems to work with more than just the Elk, though I'm not sure if it works with the Multiattack action. I imagine it would.
The big drawback, of course, is only being able to do this four or so times a day. And Barkskin is just as effective as Shield of Faith, so long term there's not a lot of benefit there. So, we have to ask ourselves if the limited amount of War Priest attacks is worthwhile. At increasingly higher levels, I've found that, as a moon druid, I've been using Polymorph on myself more than Wild Shape. War Priest does not work while Polymorphed, so that brings down the usefulness there as well.
This combination isn't prone to abuse anymore then any other. Honestly the +2 AC from Shield of Faith isn't going to really swing a druid one way or another. Their AC is generally poor compared to other medium armor users unless the "metal armor" prohibition is hand waved as 1) it's toothless and costs the druid nothing 2) there are no rules for non metal armors costing more or less then metal... so nothing stops scale from being made from scales for the same cost other then imagination.
It's AC boost is nothing compared casting it on a fighter in scale with a shield, giving him an AC of 20! Most Beasts have an AC between 11-14, so +2 isn't any more game breaking for a lvl 1 spell then Barkskin is.
Compared to a level of Life Cleric to increase every casting of Goodberry from 10hp to 40hp or what a level of Barbarian, Monk, Dragon Sorcerer does to the AC of a Wildshaped druid. It's just +1 attack Wis Mod times per day, not losing spell progression, extra cantrips, and a few different spells memorized.

You'd need to be at least a 6th level Druid to do this, so a 7th level character minimum. At that point it's not overly powerful.

I agree with Sorce and Mephista,
