I know this has already been talked about, and I understand the movement and casting of spells. However, I had a little agrument with a fellow player about it being used.
It is a 5 foot cube and "friendly" creatures can enter each other spaces... So, can I have my spell on a party member and then another party member walk into it and then walk out of it to get healed? I saw no because it seems like the spell is meant to have one creature in it at a time. The DM didn't want to have a argument about it and just said take it. Tried to find some resources on it, but nothing on amount of players at once. Please help. 😀
During combat you cannot end your turn within the same 5 foot space of another creature, friend or foe... you can move through allie's spaces or occupy allie's spaces (difficult terrain) so long as you end your turn somewhere else.
Outside of combat it is the 'clown car' scenario... pack 10 or 20 people into a 5 foot space if you want.
The answer is yes, any friendly creature that passes through it gets the healing, and a friendly creature can pass through a teammates space. Very high potential for healing the whole group.

You fear it more than the strike of a viper, the ravages of disease, the ire of a lover. The answer is always death. But death is a gentle mistress with a sweet embrace, and you owe her a debt of restitution. Life is not a gift, it is a loan."
It’s very high potential, but it requires that the whole group be able to move without being hit by attacks of opportunity. In theory it’s incredibly powerful, in actual play I’ve found that I don’t use it.

In those scenarios as the DM I would do my utmost to punish them for attempting that tactic. Drop some gas or fire on the spot, not like TPK punish but not make it easy.

You don’t need to bother. Abusing it in combat is so hard anyway. If a party manages to abuse it, let them because they won’t manage very often.

I agree and only used it outside of combat to save on using hitdice. It seems that within combat though that creatures smaller than 5x5 could readily fit in it. I'm thinking of the wolverine movie where he and sabertooth fight back to back. As a 6 ft tall man, I am less than 2.5 ft deep (and less than 5 ft wide at the shoulders), so it seem reasonable another humanoid of similar or less size could reside in a 5x5 space with its back to me. Therefore no climbing inside of a phonebooth effect required.
to he original post; yes two players can occupy the same space and thus be effected by an healing spirit if, for instance, one player is carrying an unconscious ally to safety.
more generally; it is up to the DM. It is, however, exceptional to have two players occupy same space. so don't get your Hope's up.
There is no reason, other than tactics, that everyone in the party could "enter or begin" their turn in the healing spirit's space. an example being a long corridor or shaft where a fighting withdrawal is employed. healing spirit is cast to the "retire" (rear) everyone moves through it on their turn, next round the healing spirit is moved 30ft... behind the party.
Check out the moving into small spaces / through small spaces section, it mentions movement under those circumstances will be at half movement (acrobatics to parkour / gymnast check to avoid that should be possible) - so entering into an allies space will cost double movement. If you are attacked whilst without optimum range of movements then you are at disadvantage to hit and your opponents are at advantage. (oh and halflings with enter creatures spaces ability could well negate that for them and the creature they wander into the space of)

Also, if characters are Small, they should be able to fit in a 5' x 5' space, right?
