I am working on a sorcerer character who's spells come from his ability to manipulate reality. I gave him a skills that reflect his need to learn about the world in order to use his powers. What I'm wondering about is if I made the right choices spell wise to convey reality shaping. I dipped one level of Cleric. Cantrips: Cleric 1. Thaumaturgy 2. Sacred Flame 3. Mending/Guiding/Light
Sorcerer 1. Acid Splash 2. Fire Bolt 3. Minor Illusion 4. Prestidigitation
In terms of story, he receives his powers under strange circumstances and goes on journey of study to learn the source (hence the one level dip into knowledge cleric). He will quickly come to believe that he is destined to be a god king. I liked the bells and whistles of the storm sorcerer and re-skinned, it really feels like a being instinctively in control of reality. Plus, cleric is the only class with thaumaturgy.

To me, sorcerer who manipulates reality and whose powers derive from learning about the world sounds an awful lot like a wizard.
What do you call "reality shaping?" All magic manipulates reality.
All magic shapes reality. You are taking the thread(magic)that runs through the fabric(reality)and twisting it to your means.
Zargorth Dakzonar, High Elf Sorceror
If you mean warping Space time I think there are better spells but as far as manipulating battlefield/reality its alright
why cleric just curious. why not Divine soul?

Did you apply multiclassing rules? Multiclassing with spellcasters is tricky.
