what about illusionist bracers + booming blade if you only have one attack per action
You do not use the Attack action to cast Booming Blade. You use the Cast a Spell action. So you do not need to consider the number of attacks you normally have per action.
Anyway, if you use your action to cast Booming Blade, Illusionist's Bracers will allow you to cast Booming Blade again on the same turn with your bonus action.

As an addition to this, with the updates to the Bladesinging Wizard, you could take the Attack action and still end up casting Booming Blade. But Illusionist's Bracers would still allow you to cast Booming Blade again with your bonus action.
Also, if you believe the Bladesinging Wizard can replace the Attack action granted by Haste, you could potentially cast Booming Blade three times during your turn.

Haste specifically says the attack action it grants can only make 1 weapon attack. I'd say it is a stretch to say that you can cast a spell instead (even if the spell makes a weapon attack).

Yes, there is some controversy if this is possible or not.

I'm aware of bladesinger's extra attack feature (it is awesome), I just think the specific wording of haste should prevent it.
I'm by no means an expert. My finding suggest the answer is no.However! Every good game has exceptions to rules.
There is a VERY RARE item, introduce in the MTG Ravnica DnD handbook called Illusionists Bracers that breaks this rule. Allowing a cantrip to be cast as a bonus action, IF it is cast as your action.
So, with this item, yes you can double up on the cantrip.
However, you couldn't use the bonus action for the cantrip if you did anything else with your main action
This would suit a warlock with eldritch blast and agonizing blast absolutwly fine though ;)

Which rule does illusionist's bracers break exactly? It only changes casting time (same as quicken spell metamagic), all other spellcasting rules are still followed.

Agreed. haste's wording is that you can use an attack action to ONLY make one melee attack. If you are not making ONE melee attack, you do not qualify for the attack action granted by haste.

Any time an unfathomably powerful entity sweeps in and offers godlike rewards in return for just a few teensy favors, it’s a scam. Unless it’s me. I’d never lie to you, reader dearest.

You are incorrect.
The only limit is if you are casting a spell (of any level) as a bonus action all other spells that turn must be cantrips. So, casting a cantrip as an action then again as a bonus is absolutely within these rules - whether achieved through Quicken Spell metamagic, Illusionist Bracers item or any other effect.
If you are not casting a spell as a bonus action then you may cast any number of any level of spells as your action economy allows. So let's say you're a mix of Arcane Trickster Rogue with a 2-level dip in Fighter. You could totally use your action to cast, say Silent Image, then use Action Surge to cast Color Spray and still use your bonus to Hide.
Also, if you believe the Bladesinging Wizard can replace the Attack action granted by Haste, you could potentially cast Booming Blade three times during your turn.

Bladesingers can replace 1 weapon attack in their attack action with a cantrip as part of their extra attack feature.
Haste clearly says you can only use that extra action for doing a single attack action, while nothing in the bladesinger says this particular attack could be used for booming blade.
Extra Attack
6th-level Bladesinging feature
You can attack twice, instead of once, whenever you take the Attack action on your turn. Moreover, you can cast one of your cantrips in place of one of those attacks.
RAW, this says you can only swap one of the attacks made while making two attacks can be swapped out. Haste gives a single extra action that can make a single attack, bladesinger can only swap out one attack while making use of the Extra attack feature.
Multiclassing with fighter though, using an action surge, you could use two actions to attack twice, each time swapping out one attack for booming blade. + either sorcerer levels or the metamagic feat to quicken a cast of booming blade for a bonus action booming blade #3. So, it's possible, by RAW, just not with haste.
Misty step and fireball are both spells so you could not do that on your turn. Even though you used a bonus action and an action you are still limited to casting only one spell per tern. PHB “A spell cast with a bonus action is especially swift. You must use a bonus action on your turn to cast the spell, provided that you haven't already taken a bonus action this turn. You can't cast another spell during the same turn, except for a cantrip with a casting time of 1 action.”
I think your numbers are a little messed up. For one thing you can only apply Eldritch smite once per turn. PHB “Once per turn when you hit a creature with your pact weapon, you can expend a warlock spell slot to deal an extra 1d8 force damage to the target, plus another 1d8 per level of the spell slot,” for another thing if you are using it at 5th the earliest you could get it the damage is 1d8+3d8=4d8 not 6 you need a 5th level slot for that. Third for the target to take all of the booming damage they have to move so that damage looks like this 1d8+(movement =2d8)
Assuming that you could acquire illusionist Bracers your damage looks like this on a hit; 2d6+2d6+1d8+(movement =2d8)+4d8 second hit 2d6+2d6+1d8+(movement =2d8) bit of a difference but still respectable.
Totally different question on this cause this just popped in my head.
If you multi classed with Warlock/Sorcerer/Fighter, could you cast Eldritch Blast 3 times in a turn with the uses of action surge and quicken spell?
Yes, maximum in one turn is something like 4 (action surge, haste, bladesinger, quickened). But it's completely MAD covering Warlock, Fighter, and Bladesinger.

There is a lot of debate on if haste + bladesinger lets you cast an extra cantrip. Last I checked, more people seemed to be in favor of the specific language of haste preventing the casting than otherwise.
I don't want to respark that debate here, I just want people reading to know that the combo may not be allowed by DMs.
In the case where you have metamagic adept with quickened spell, and warcaster. Would you in theory be able cast three cantrips in one turn? I can’t seem to find something that says no. Most of the things I see are related to leveled spells and not cantrips.

so hex blade warlock + flame tongue great sword + illusionist bracers + booming blade + eldritch smite is ok according to the rules as is.
So 2d6+2d6+3d8+6d8 x2
sneak attack can suck it
That’s assuming your DM allows you to have Illusionist Bracers 😜

Ive been educated on action economy by a friend Ive been chatting about.
Im new to DnD and I cant shut up about it. Im still learning. But ice learned a lot of indepth, beyond surface level stuff
