Just watched CR's C2E6 and I cannot figure out how he is moving his Hexblade's Curse to other gnolls, at his current level (3). I understand the level 14 class feature allows this, so I am wondering if I have the wrong understanding about how this cornerstone feature works. I thought that you apply it to one target, and once it dies or you die, the curse ends. Cannot use again until a short rest.
Remember that CR is a little homebrew mixed with 5e rules. I think they are trying to be more "strict" this season but they are all trying something new.

Perpetually annoyed that Eldritch Knights can't use Eldritch Blast, Eldritch Smite, and Eldritch Sight.
Maybe he's using hex and calling it Hexblade's Curse? I don't know; I've never watched any D&D streams, Critical Role or otherwise, so it's just a random guess.

Starting at 14th level, you can use your Hexblade’s Curse again without resting, but when you apply it to a new target, the curse immediately ends on the previous target.

I am aware of this great feature. The problem is, as I stated in my original post, his warlock is only level 3.
so I'm over a year behind but I started watching the second campaign and just finished this episode. Hex- You place a curse on a creature that you can see within range. Until the spell ends, you deal an extra 1d6 necrotic damage to the target whenever you hit it with an attack. Also, choose one ability when you cast the spell. The target has disadvantage on ability checks made with the chosen ability. So i noticed he adds 1d6 necrotic damage to his rolls but does not choose an ability for his target to have disadvantage on. Then he thanks one of the other players for killing the gnoll with the hex on it. He then adds temp hit points like he's using hexblade's curse. Its either a homebrewed combination of both Hex and Hexblade's Curse or Travis is accidentally mixing and matching. I don't think he would do it on purpose. Probably not going to get a reply from anyone because this is over a year after this conversation took place... Have a nice day!

Might he be using the old UA HexBlades Curse?

Oooops, sorry. Was reading the post at the end of my nightshift. Must be something homebrewed then. Tried asking them on Twitter or Twitch?
Probably one of the features I find lacking as a warlock, to be able to move the curse around more freely then once per rest.
He's using the spell Hex when he moves it around. I can definitely see where it could get confusing though.
