I've had the idea for a construct-based warlock for a while now. The most obvious patron would be Primus, but you could flavor it as serving an artificial deity. On the mechanics side of the subclass, I imagine a tanky warlock that would rush in and dish out a bunch of damage while being able to avoid most damage but can also be a support.
I think one of the first-level abilities would likely be proficiency in some armor, and it's abilities mostly would be buffs to the party. Any suggestions?

A construct based warlock....hmmm.
Sounds very much like an Eberron character to me. It seems plausible but in the Forgotten Realms, such a character would probably hail from the arcane wonderlands of either Lantan or Halruaa and there would probably be at least one cleric of Gond tagging along, with the construct's repair kit and lubricating oil can. As for which Patron might accept a sentient construct, that would be an interesting topic to debate.
Addendum: the lubricating oil can is a nod to the Tin Woodsman from The Wizard of Oz.
What type of Patron would accept a sentient, autonomous construct?
A Celestial Patron might, if only to have a chance to influence other sentient autonomous constructs to follow the path of righteousness.
An Archfey Patron might, to see if constructs are worth the arcane effort to create.
A Fiend Patron would probably have to be convinced that a sentient autonomous construct actually HAS a soul that can be corrupted and manipulated by the Powers of Darkness and Despair.
As for the Great Old One Patron.....I have no idea.
