I'll admit up front that I'm giddy about playing a Loxodon and have been trying out ideas for about a week now. I've settled on warlock for class and wondered if anyone (DMs especially) thought this idea would be viable/present problems I'm not seeing.
Idea is, basically, that this elephant man is one of a line of shamans of his herd. They've always taken responsibility for the spiritual wellbeing of the herd, and they've always had trouble with demons. This young Loxodon took a rather radical approach and ate a demon, bonded with it, and was subsequently thrown out of the herd.
They've formed an apprentice/master slash jailer/prisoner type relationship that should work like a normal warlock.
In a roundabout way you've basically made a Jinchuuriki from Naruto. Weird, but, interesting.

Ha you are a weird-o! In a good way! This reminds me of the home brew symbiosis patron In this forum. How exactly does a Loxodon eat a demon? I’m asssuming it’s a weaker demon and not an arch fiend?
Perhaps a Pact if the Chain Warlock where the imp familiar is actually the demon inside! That could make for a weird summoning ritual!
I'd imagined that the herd's shamans summoned demons fairly frequently, engaging them in contests of will to learn what they needed to know to protect themselves spiritually. I guess my guy decided to experiment a bit and consumed the demon he summoned.
Mechanically how? No idea. Physically ate it, maybe. Absorbed it somehow. Maybe they straight up made a pact and the demon moved in as part of the bargain.
Love the idea of the familiar being a representative of the demon inside him.

Any thoughts?

I suppose I have, though that wasn't in my mind when thinking of the concept.
