If I buy the "Compendium Content Only" part of each thing I want, does that mean I unlock all the stuff to use on dndbeyond? I'm just trying to use them on dndbeyond and not have any hard copies. For example, I want to use the sub-classes from Xanathar's Guide to Everything when making my characters ON dndbeyond, and not have to pay extra for the hard copy being shipped to me. Just making sure if that's how it works, basically.
The Compendium Only option gives you only the digital book on the Compendium section. It will NOT give you the options in the character builder nor in the listings.
So basically you will get access to a digital version of the book in question but not anything that would be use able with the character creator.
An example would be for the players handbook you get a digital version of the book (every page), but you would still only have access to the SRD content in the character builder (one subclass for each class). This would be the option you would use if you plan to physically write out your character sheets and the like, and do not plan to utilize the character builder from the site.
I hope that helps? Filcat may have a more in depth answer if that is not enough.

So let's say I buy the Player's Handbook. Doesn't that give me all the Character Creation stuff I need? Would it then be repetitive to buy the full copy of Hoard of the Dragonqueen? Trying to get a read on this thing. :D
Buying the complete Player's Handbook will unlock everything it offers on your account, in terms of the compendium content and character builder/sheet. Buying the compendium specifically only gives you access to the rules, as opposed to that full functionality. Likewise, buying specific subraces or subclasses will not give you access to the rules.
Scroll down to the Pricing Summary. To use the PHB as an example, if you only buy the compendium content, you do not get the race, spells or backgrounds etc. It's better value to buy everything together, but these partial-purchase options are there for people who only want specific content.

No, as I said, buying the PHB with the Compendium Only options does not unlock the options in the character builder. It gives you only the "digital book" in the Compendium section.
By the same token, buying an adventure module, such as Hoard of the Dragon Queen, with the Compendium Only option gives you only the digital book. It will not give you the monsters and the items in the Listing (Monster Listing and Magic Items listing) section of the website. Those Monsters and Items will be readable only from the Compendium section.

Buying the full version of Hoard of the Dragon Queen instead of the Compendium-Only version will let you give your characters the black dragon mask, the insignia of claws,Hazirawn, and the wand of winter, though you could easily just homebrew them for your own personal use. It will also let you see them and the 14 monsters from Hoard of the Dragon Queen--11 of which are named NPCs--in the appropriate listings.
