So, artificer alchemists always have Acid Arrow prepped, right? WRONG, they have both Acid Arrow and Melf's Acid Arrow according to the sheet, and count as two prepped spells. So the mechanically identical spell takes two of your precious low level spell slots for no purpose - can anything be changed or updated about this? In real play I can ignore the prep spell limit and just know I have another spell, but is there any way to either convince the sheet to ignore one of those two spells, or recognize that they're identical and should only count as ONE spell towards the daily prep?

They don't take up any slots, always prepared spells don't count towards your prepared spell limit. So if you can prepare 5 spells and also have 3 spells always prepared, that means you can have a total of 8 spells prepared at any given time.
You always have certain spells prepared after you reach particular levels in this class, as shown in the Alchemist Spells table. These spells count as artificer spells for you, but they don’t count against the number of artificer spells you prepare.
As such, neither Melf's Acid Arrow nor Acid Arrow count towards the (intelligence modifier + half artificer level rounded down) spells you can prepare.
Looking at my sheet right now and they do. Just leveled up and got access to 2nd level spells, and the sheet says I now have 8/7 prepared spells for the day and both the acid arrow spells have the ALWAYS PREPARED tag. I understand what you're saying, and what I'm arguing I think is that the sheet itself, or the coding for the spells within the character sheet, does not follow those RAW.

The following spoiler contains an image of the Spells tab of the character sheet you linked taken immediately before composing this post:
Your character is a 5th level Artificer, with an Intelligence of 20 which equates to a +5 modifier.
An artificer starts with 2 Cantrips and doesn’t get their 3rd until 10th level. The image shows your character has two known Cantrips, so all’s good there. ✅✅
At 5th level, an Artificer should have 2nd-level spell slots, and your character does. ✅✅
Your character sheet indicates that character is an Alchemist, and as such your hey should have the following additional spells prepared:
Your character has those exact spells prepared. ✅✅
As an artificer you can prepare a number of spells equal to ½ your level rounded down plus your Intelligence modifier.*2 As a 5th level Artificer, 5 ÷ 2 = 2.5, which rounds down to 2 spells. With an Int of 20 you have a modifier of +5, meaning 5 additional spells. 2+5=7 spells that character could choose to prepare at the end of each long rest. In addition to the aforementioned Cantrips and Alchemist spells, you have exactly 7 additional spells currently prepared. ✅✅
Maybe I’m not pickin’ up what you’re puttin’ down, and if so please enlighten me. Because by everything I can see you have the exact number of prepared spells I would expect given your character’s level and Intelligence. 🤷♂️
*(Acid arrow is the generic, non-name brand version. For anyone who has not purchased access to the PHB, the generic version is free for everyone because the Baeic Rules & SRD are free to everyone. It’s basically like generic versions of medication, more affordable and accessible, but functionally identical. DDB puts access to this version for everyone, and the name brand only for those who purchased access as an add on since it is technically more accurate RAW.)
*(Direct Quote. “You prepare the list of artificer spells that are available for you to cast, choosing from the artificer spell list. When you do so, choose a number of artificer spells equal to your Intelligence modifier + half your artificer level, rounded down (minimum of one spell). The spells must be of a level for which you have spell slots.“)
Looking at your sheet, I've gotta agree with IamSpota's very clear and thorough evaluation. You're a level 5 artificer with +5 intelligence which means you can prepare 7 spells (5/2 rounding down + 5 = 7). Looking at your prepared spells, you have
2 Cantrips (correct)
7 Prepared Spells (correct)
5 Always Prepared Spells, two of which are SRD/PHB duplicates; Acid Arrow and Melf's Acid Arrow (correct)
I don't know how it happened, and I didn't think of screenshots unfortunately; but as far as I can tell what had happened is that somehow at the level up from 4 > 5 as the character gained second level spells the sheet was insisting i had prepped 8/7 spells; or somehow it had let me prep 8 spells before? My browser crashed, and when the page reloaded Cure Wounds was no longer prepared and the sheet said 7/7 spells. 🤷🏻 I dunno. I agree that now it seems to look like it should, so...Gremlins! Gremlins I say!
