I was just looking at the character creator, and was surprised to find right off the bat things missing that are in the core PH when generating a character. Like, a dwarf gets +2 CON, but Hill Dwarves don't get +1 WIS and Mountain Dwarves don't get +2 STR. Why are Clerics restricted only to the Life Domain? There are seven domains listed in the Players Handbook. Is the character generator simply unfinished? These seem like major things to be missing, and I've only looked at the system for a few minutes. I can't even crate the character I want using it.
The feature/subclass/race you are referring to is not part of the D&D 5th edition SRD and will need to be unlocked from the marketplace before you can use it on D&D Beyond.
in response to your question about the different subraces abilities, the builder DOES correctly include those. The issue is that in the description in the section of the builder where you choose your race, the description starts with those traits specific to the race as a whole; subrace traits are further down, after all the race traits; you have to scroll down to see them. It’s confusing, and something the team is aware of, but my impression is that it isn’t all that high a priority to “fix.” (Technically it’s not a bug, but it is not the best UI experience)

I am guessing you are seeing only the free options.
The non-free options must be unlocked with a purchase from the Marketplace or via content sharing.

D&D Beyond can be used for free and contains information from the following "free to use" sources published by Wizards of the Coast: D&D 5th edition SRD, D&D 5th edition Basic Rules, and Elemental Evil Companion.
Content from other sources, such as the Player's Handbook, Dungeon Master's Guide, or Monster Manual, will need to be purchased from the Marketplace or accessed via another user sharing content with you via their Master Tier Subscription.
